A USCF-Rated, Over the Board tournament!!
1 Scholastic-Only Section, 2 Mixed (Youth & Adult) Sections
4 rounds + $530 total prizes!
When: Saturday July 11, 2026
Where: South Butler Community Library (240 W. Main St., Saxonburg PA 16056)
FORMAT:
4 Rounds (9:30AM, 10:45AM, 12:15PM, 1:30PM)***NEW: This tournament will be followed with a “simultaneous exhibition” at 4pm. This event is optional. Registration for the simultaneous exhibition is available within the usual tournament registration form***
3 Sections: Scholastic (U800, K-12 ONLY), Premier (U1200), Championship (Open to All)
Playing up a section (or two) is an option if players are looking for an extra challenge
Players may choose to play down 1 section ONLY IF they are provisionally rated
Time Control: 30 minutes per side + 5 second delay (clocks WILL be used in the Scholastic Section, but taking notation is OPTIONAL)
Other: Boards and pieces provided. All players in the Premier and Championship sections must take notation (click here for video on taking notation).
PRIZES:
Championship: 1st: $160, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $70
Premier: 1st: $100, 2nd: $60, 3rd: $40
Scholastic: Prizes for top 3 (guaranteed). More prizes may be awarded if number of participants in the section is over 12.
